Dannie Frey has a gift for building connections that matter and empowering other women, young and old, to do the same. Dannie began her career as a social worker in the mental health field, eventually transitioning to coaching and consulting. Her focus has been providing her clients with the skills and tools necessary to increase strength and resiliency while disrupting the status quo. Little did she know that her own program, Empowered to Take Action, created in 2017, would be her greatest source of personal support in 2020 when surviving brain cancer and psychological abuse from her husband.
Dannie has a gift for storytelling and courageously shares with others her own stories that demonstrate how strong and resilient we all are. Her Empowered to Take Action workbook, small group, and mastermind opportunities combine her education, skills, and life experiences in a way that enables women and girls to see the strength that is already within and apply practical tools for building resiliency and overcoming whatever life throws at them. Through Dannie’s own battle with cancer and abuse, she found that humor is the best medicine, crying does not make you weak, and having a circle of women you can count on can make the difference, no matter what you are facing.
Dannie finds joy in teaching women and young girls through several organizations she was instrumental in supporting and creating, such as Camp Girl Boss—an entrepreneur and leadership program for middle school girls, and three highly successful programs she created: Leveraging Your Time, Building Connections That Matter, and Empowered To Take Action. She loves to use these programs with her Best Year Yet® certification to assist women entrepreneurs in planning and executing their business goals to create a balance and achieve success.
Dannie currently resides in Mills River, North Carolina. She is a mom of two adult boys and a granddaughter blended into the family. She knows the “best year yet” is every one you have ahead of you.
